by Diane Moody ![]() Welcome to the official page for the fan fiction, "A Christmas Story." The story is written by an author who wrote the story for her daughter--me! Below is the author's message for you to read and you have to read it first. Don't miss it! Enjoy the story, and don't forget to tell us what you think. Click here to send an email. This whole thing started last summer when my daughter and I camped out
during the predawn hours of a late August morning to get tickets for the
Millenium Tour’s visit to our city. They weren’t the best seats, but we were
thrilled to get them. We waited three long months for the Backstreet Boys to come to town . . . and of course, it was well worth the wait! What an unforgettable night! She’s never been the same since that night and I guess I haven’t either, in a way. I realized there’s something kind of frustrating about being a "fan," know what I mean? My daughter knows so much about these five guys . . . has their pictures covering every inch of her room . . . the whole family knows every lyric of every song since we hear them over and over and over . . . we know the videos by heart . . . And that night at the concert, sitting only a few yards away from that incredible stage and those incredible guys, I wanted so much for my daughter to experience something more personal . . . Maybe one day we’ll get those front row seats or backstage passes, but I wasn’t satisfied to wait that long. With Christmas approaching, I got a better idea. Basically, I wrote one chapter intending it to be a short story. I tied it in red Christmas ribbon and slipped it under her door as a surprise. She loved it! I was thrilled! She begged me to write more and the story has grown and grown . . . and I have to say it has been a pure labor of love. In a strange, roundabout sort of way, the Backstreet Boys have been an unbelievable bond for me and my teenage daughter. We used to be at each other’s throats and now, sharing this phenomenon from that morning buying tickets to the concert to this expanding little story, we have found some common ground. What I would give to be able to thank the guys for that! Now she has convinced me to post the story for you to read. I hope you can share some of the fantasy of it and can put yourself in Hannah’s shoes . . . go ahead and dream a little. This one’s on me!
