How does A+ Premium Filtering Work? HEDGEBUILDERS is a server-sided system. All filtering takes place on our servers, not on your computer. Every time you type in an Internet address, or click on a link to an Internet address, or type in a word to search for, the address or word you requested is routed past our servers where it is checked against our block list. If your request is not on our list, you proceed as normal to the site you requested. If your request is on our list, you get a message stating that the site you requested has been blocked along with an explanation. Since we have lightning-speed computers and a super fast connection to the Internet, the whole process of checking your request takes less than a second once it reaches the Internet. That's how simple it is! No weekly or monthly downloads, no constant monitoring, no need to rate sites or make system adjustments. HEDGEBUILDERS does all of the work for you. You won't even know it's there until you stumble into a pornographic site - and that day will come! With HEDGEBUILDERS you will receive the block screen instead of the pornography. It really is that simple! Can I use HB on more than one computer for the same price? The HEDGEBUILDERS filtering can be loaded on up to 3 computers for no additional charge. Beyond that additional computers are $2 per month. If I cancel before my subscription is up will I get a refund? Yes. All refunds are based on the number of whole unused months left in a users HB subscription minus a small admin fee. Set-up fees are non-refundable beyond the first 30 days after the new user registers. In order to receive a refund you have to follow our established refund procedure. How does A+ Premium Filtering handle Chat rooms? Chat rooms and Newsgroups are reviewed and those deemed inappropriate are blocked. What if I want to exempt a site that is on your block list? The system allows you to build a "white list" of sites you would like exempted from the blocking. What if we find a site that should be blocked and is not? Simply e-mail HEDGEBUILDERS the web address of the site in question at Add-a-Badsite@hedge.org and we will add it to the block list. What type of sites do you block? Nudity Sexual materials – adult oriented literature, blogs, etc. Provocative attire – revealing clothing, lingerie, bikini sites Profanity Dating/Social - personals and dating sites Hacking - illegal computer activity Spyware Anonymizers – proxy servers P2P/File Sharing - peer to peer Chat Hate Speech - racism, anti-semitism, sexism Alcohol Drugs – illegal narcotics Criminal skills - bomb making, burglary, murder Weapons - illegal Extreme - excessive violence, mutilation Does HEDGEBUILDERS provide filtering for Windows computers? Yes we do, click Here Does HEDGEBUILDERS offer free technical support? Yes, there is no charge for tech support. We ask that you attempt to have your questions answered first via e-mail. As a Not-For-Profit organization, this helps us keep our expenses down tremendously. E-mail support is available seven days a week from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (Central Standard Time.) Does A+ Premium Filtering work with broadband, fast speed Internet connections? Yes - very well! How would I uninstall HB? It is necessary to contact HB support to obtain uninstall information.
